The surfaces of the teeth that need to be treated are gently prepared during this second appointment. Scans of your teeth are taken, and temporary veneers may be applied as required. Today’s veneers are very thin. Only about a half-millimeter of enamel is removed to make room for each veneer. Since so little tooth structure is removed, preparing and placing veneers is associated with little to no sensitivity. Provisional restorations help to protect the prepared teeth while your permanent veneers are being made.
