My name is Dr. Julianne Shaw and I am the dentist on Mondays at Orange + Magnolia Dental Studio since early 2017.  Dr. Kahng and I work closely together to provide our patients with cohesive and streamlined care. I was born and raised locally in Tustin and it is wonderful to be back home. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco and furthered my education by completing a General Practice Residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. My goal as a dentist is to provide our patients with the knowledge and education to maintain and improve their oral health. While prevention is my focus, if treatment is necessary, I strive to provide quality, patient-centered dental care with a gentle touch. Aside from the technical aspects of dentistry, my favorite part of the profession is getting to know each of my patients and creating a comfortable environment while also giving the patient a voice to feel included and informed.

I love to learn and I attend many hours of continuing education each year to ensure that I stay up to date of the technology and techniques essential to providing quality dental care for my patients. Giving back to the community is also very important to me. While living in North Carolina I had the opportunity to give back by providing dental treatment to elementary school children in rural communities who lacked access to dental care.

When I am outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and dog, Skip. I’ve trained and certified Skip as a therapy dog and on my days off I volunteer with him at a local elementary school in their reading program.  My husband and I love being outdoors and enjoy running, hiking, and going to the beach. I look forward to meeting everyone and caring for their smile.

Sue

I greet our patients as they arrive, and make sure they’re comfortable in our reception area. It’s important each person understands they’re in a safe place, and that we’re here to help them, whatever they need. Every patient has different concerns, and in talking with them, I learn better how to ensure they have a positive visit. In addition to welcoming patients, I also answer our phones, verify a patient’s dental insurance, and schedule their appointments and recall visits. Additionally, I handle our billing and collection matters. I enjoy working in a dental office where we put the patients at the forefront of everything we do.

I’m the mother to three great kids and six grandkids. My husband of 10 years and I live in Long Beach. We love being with our family, and enjoy camping, traveling, and watching football.
